Politics & PR: Communications on the Campaign Trail

Whether you’re a donkey or an elephant, or neither; whether you love or hate politics, or wonder why we all can’t just get along – don’t miss this fun pre-Election Day program to hear from someone who has been in the middle of it all.

Tom Brede, former Press Secretary to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is now part of the EMA Public Affairs & Public Relations team, counseling clients on government relations and policy issues, crisis communications, media relations and messaging. Tom will share his experiences in politics and what PR pros can learn from communications on the campaign trail.

Tom will cover:

  • Insights on this year’s presidential campaign, PR victories, missteps and takeaways
  • Evolution of the message during a campaign – from policy and persuasion to getting out the vote
  • What businesses, agencies and nonprofits alike can learn from the election and political process and apply to their own work
