Communicating in a Time of COVID-19

Live, March 19, 2020

3:00-4:00PM EDT

We also believe mindfulness and mental health are more important now than ever. As such, we’ve gathered together a few resources that we believe can help during this time:

  • Try meditation or yoga with free audio classes offered by Breathe Yoga.
  • Download the Calm or Headspace app for at-home mindfulness and meditation.
  • Read this great blog by Spin Sucks/Gini Dietrich about creating a productive work-from-home environment.

Stay safe out there!

To the PRSA Community,

With a continued focus on managing the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the decision to postpone the March 18th Media Panel: Rochester’s Newest Faces and Newest Resources.

We do this out of respect for our media members who are working hard to keep us all updated as the situation unfolds, and for our community who has already begun to feel the impact of this virus. We look forward to rescheduling soon.

At the moment, we are still planning for events and workshops in April and beyond. Information will be posted on and provided via email as details are confirmed.

PRSA remains a resource to you and your organization at this time. Members are encouraged to use PRSA Open Forum, an online chat community where an engaging conversation around the public messaging of the virus can be found. Other resources and webinars on crisis communications can also be found on the PRSA National website.

We are all watching, and also immersed in, a changing environment right now. PRSA Rochester is trying to do its part to keep friends and colleagues safe. We appreciate your support and understanding as this continues to evolve.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.
