Young Professionals

Who are we?

Forging relationships is a key part of building a fulfilling career and is especially critical for excelling in public relations. PRSA Rochester’s Young Professionals (YP) committee provides recent entrants into the world of PR a path to connecting with others at a similar stage in their career. The committee focuses on 21–30-year-olds or those with less than seven years of experience in PR. 

The committee plans casual socials and networking events throughout the year for committee members and interested non-members and students. Young professionals can join the committee to take on leadership responsibilities in planning these events and providing new ideas and input.

As professionals early in their PR journeys, the YP committee has a unique ability to provide start-of-career advice and perspective to students interested in learning about and entering the field. So, the YP committee also participates in student-centered events like the annual Pitch Program and in speaking and mentorship opportunities with local schools.
